Chief of Police

My name is Calvin Troy. I reside in a small town called Hahira, Georgia. I moved from Hahira, Georgia back in 1991 and moved to California. I moved back to my hometown in the year of 1993. I received a letter from the Sheriff of Lowndes County, pertaining to a job offer. I started my career in law enforcement in January, 1994. I was employed with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office for fourteen years. My season was up with the Lowndes County sheriff’s Office in the year of 2008. I was a lieutenant when I resigned from the department.

I later went to the Quitman Police Department in January, 2008. I worked myself through the ranks. I was promoted to chief of police, in 2017. I resigned from the position in 2019, because of the new management that got elected to office. I moved on to Cecil, Georgia, where I am the current chief of police. I am certified state and federal general instructor. I am a certified federal active shooter and domestic violence instructor. I enjoy what I do and I love helping people in the time of need. I have a Bachelor Degree in criminal justice. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
